At first i thought i'd just test different coloring techniques in PS. I started by coloring the locomotive pink because i had this crazy idea of creating a kind of fairytale-candyland out of the image :D But then at some point, after trying on layers after layers of all sorts of crap, i ended up with something totally different. I like sunbeams. So naturally i had to test those as well and i kinda liked the effect and after some tweaks the image got rather dark in atmosphere. Which is another thing i like :D
Ultimately, this is how it came out:

I decided to fade out the pink and other colours in the end. I have a "thing" for anything remotely post-apocalyptic feeling, haha.
This picture i'll never post anywhere in high-res because all the processing pretty much destroyed every last bit of pixels on it. Yay for crap quality pics!
And that is why i'll never, ever shoot with ISO settings higher than 400 again. Live and learn...
Anyways, i'm planning on using similar settings on other images, first i need to work on it more though. Just thought i'd post this here cuz i got nothing better to do at the moment... lulz.

Signs of autumn #3

Well, well...

Went to see Pentti Sammallahti's exposition in Helsinki yesterday and I must say it was amazing. His dreamlike pictures from around the world were extremely impressive. As a devoted lover of black and white photography it sure was a special treat ♥
The master himself was also at the scene and even signed autographs for those who kindly asked :)

After the expo we went to another exhibition of Isaac Julien's Ten thousand waves, which blew my mind!
I could've stayed there forever. Haunting, tragic & beautiful.

I wish I had more time to shoot around the city. All I got were some lousy photos of a few buildings and a fuzzy paparazzi-shot of a Big Brother celeb.... Cheeez.

I just had to...

post this beautiful picture i found in my mom's collection of family photos! I have absolutely no idea who took this photo, nor do i know the person in it... Gotta ask my grandma about it :)

I love-love-love old photographs with passion. I once found this gorgeous old, authentic 19th century photoalbum at a flea market and still after all these years my soul dies a little everytime i think about it. All the old photos still  inside, GAH! I couldn't afford it ;(
